The Story Behind It
The Rangpur Lime is believed to have originated in India, where it has been grown for centuries. Despite its name, it’s not a true lime but a mandarin-citron hybrid. Its bold, tangy juice has made it a favorite for mixing drinks, flavoring dishes, and creating preserves.
Also known as Canton lemon (China), hime lemon (Japan), cravo lemon (Brazil), mandarin-lime (US), Sylhet lime, surkh nimboo, sharbati and marmalade lime (India).
In addition to its culinary uses, the Rangpur Lime Tree is admired for its ornamental value. With its colorful fruit and fragrant blossoms, it’s as beautiful as it is useful.
When you plant a Rangpur Lime Tree, you’re not just growing citrus—you’re cultivating a fruit with history, character, and plenty of flavor.
